  • The NYC happy meal is the move! Very great food for a good value.

  • Had the opportunity to book Avize on 2/7/25 at 8:30 pm for early Valentines dinner. This visit was incredibly disappointing, especially because our previous dining experience in January 2025 was amazing, which is why we returned with high expectations. Unfortunately, the service and timing were unacceptable. Our server was Gabriella. She was very ineffective, lacked knowledge, did not followup, so soft spoken we could barely hear her, and could not provide any recommendations on drinks or dishes. When we ordered at 8:30 pm we wanted frog legs and caviar. She first told us frog legs were not available then later came back to the table and said actually the caviar wasn't available but the frog legs were available. Just an example of our experience. Overall the quality of servers appeared off base for this level restaurant (in both appearance and knowledge) as compared to Hal's, Bones, and Marcels which I could consider in same category. We were seated around 8:20 pm. We ordered four appetizers and drinks at 8:30 pm with the first two arriving at 9:10 and 9:16 pm (ceviche and trout) which was 40-45 minutes after ordering. The last two appetizers (frog legs/squash) didn't come out until 9:43 pmafter we ordered at 8:30 pm (1hr 13 minutes)with no real explanation or apology for the delay. The overall service felt disorganized and inattentive. The appetizers were all delicious. Thank you. We received the entrees at 10:18 pm (1 hr and 48 minutes). The entrees were unfortunately disappointing. The Wagyu steak was described by the waiter as a 7-8 ounce portion when asked the size but what was served was less than half that size and overcooked despite being ordered medium, leaving it very dry and not tasting the quality of grade 8+. The salmon entree was also overdone and not very warm, looking like it had been sitting for some time before being served. Just from an observer's standpoint it appeared the kitchen was 'broken'. Very few tables had food on them showing that wait times from the kitchen were not good. The Beverage manager Taurean was readily available near our table, and I did ask him to follow up when the second set of appetizers were so delayed. He did see my frustration as most of our time sitting at the table we had no food on the table. After my interaction with him, it appeared the server was unfortunately less attentive. Taurean actually got our second drink order due to her lack of follow up on empty drink glasses that had been on the table for some time. He did comp the salmon entree without asking any questions after he saw that I did not eat most of it. I told him I appreciated that. Given how great our prior experience was, this drastic drop in quality and service was shocking. Sadly, this visit was a waste of time and money, and it's hard to justify returning after such a poor experience. For reference 02/07/26 Order 11952 $359.32 before 20% tip and comp
